A quiet day in Kyoto
Morning
The shinkansen from Tokyo takes about two and a half hours. I had a bento. I watched the fields go by.
Afternoon
Fushimi Inari is always crowded at the entrance, but climb high enough and you get stretches of path where you can hear just the wind and the distant bells.
Tea
I found a small place near Nishiki Market. The matcha was proper — not the tourist kind. I sat there for an hour.
Evening
The train home. Watching the lights blur. Already thinking about the next visit.
